Paul Heng is the Founder/Managing Director and an Executive Coach of NeXT Career Consulting Group, Asia. The group is the Asia Pacific partner of arbóra Global Career Partners, an international association of over 30 professional corporate coaching/career management firms based globally. The group has offices in Hong Kong, PRC and Singapore from which regional support is provided to our corporate clients.

Paul is certified as a career coach (CMF) by the Institute of Career Certification International (ICC, Intl). He has completed the Master Coach Program by Behavioral Coaching Institute in Australia and also the Corporate Coach University program from the US, and is currently a member of the International Coach Federation, USA. He has chalked up over 1,500 professional coaching hours since 2003, and has been awarded the designation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation, USA.  He is qualified to administer the OPQ32 instrument.

He has over 20 years' professional human resource experience in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore. He provides coaching & consultation to senior management and executives from many industry sectors in Hong Kong, China, Singapore and other Asia Pacific countries.  Paul has been managing his regional consultancy business since 1999, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Paul's views on executive coaching, career management, outplacement and human resource topics are often sought after by the media, including the highly regarded International Herald Tribune, Hong Kong HR Magazine, Business Times, The Straits Times & the Asian Wall Street Journal. His articles on those topics are regularly published in the press as well as reputable management and business magazines, and also on major websites, both in Hong Kong as well as in Singapore. Paul is the author of “Jump Start your Career”, published by Prentice Hall. In 2007, he hosted a 10-part radio program focused on “Leadership” on Radio 938LIVE!, the premier news radio station in Singapore.   He also presented July 2009's "Positive Business Minute" - focusing again on leadership - for the same radio station.

Paul's work with the media continues in 2009/2010 where he plays career coach on a 10-part Mandarin television series on coaching job loss candidates  - this is one of Paul's way of 'giving back' and sharing his expertise with others.

Paul is a Past-President of the Rotary club of Bugis Junction and a Board Member & Wish Granter with the “Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore”. He is married and has two children.
 

 

Clement started his career with Price Waterhouse where he was responsible for a wide range of consulting services to multinational corporations from various industries, locally as well as in the region.  He maintained excellent client relationships, securing trust and confidence by providing accurate, value added and timely services.  In 1996, he represented Price Waterhouse Worldwide Firm in a World Bank sponsored project as special consultants on prudential supervision and regulatory issues to a major bank in China.
 
In his subsequent role with the world’s leading metals and minerals group, he headed the Finance and IT functions and provided regional specialist support to nine country offices in the Asian region.  In that role, he also had considerable experience in managing the full spectrum of HR functions such as employee selection and recruitment, performance management, training and development and employee counselling.
 
Clement is a certified career coach and his designation of Career Management Fellow (CMF) is awarded by the Institute of Career Certification International, USA.  He has also been awarded the designation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF), USA.  He is currently an ICF member.  His articles on career management topics, both English and Chinese, have been published in the press and he has also been invited on television and radio talk shows.
 
He is currently an Adjunct Faculty with the Singapore Management University delivering a career skills course, “The Finishing Touch” for the undergraduates and sits on the career coaching panel for the postgraduates and alumni.  He is a volunteer with the Mentor-Link, Nanyang Technological University Career Centre, where he guides students and new graduates in exploring their career options.  He has also been a lecturer with various private institutions. 
 
Clement  is an associate member of the Family Life Society Counselling Centre, a member of the Human Life International, USA.  He has a Diploma in Counselling jointly awarded by The Centre for Family Ministries, Ateneo de Manila University and the Family Life Society, Singapore.  He sits on the board of the Counselling and Care Centre, Singapore.  A father of two, he is an associate of the Centre for Fathering.   
 
He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and an Associate Wealth Planner (AWP) with the Financial Planning Association of Singapore.
 
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Strathclyde Graduate Business School, UK, specializing in strategic management.  He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. 
 
 

Helen joined the Singapore Public Sector in 1971 after graduating from Monash University, Australia with Bachelor of Economics and Statistics. Her postings at Public Service Commission, Ministry of Health and Civil Service Institute gave Helen a broad experience in national scholarship administration, personnel management and training civil service-wide. 
   
From 1985 onwards, Helen moved on to the private sector, and gained further HR expertise in MNCs and large conglomerates, namely Xerox Singapore / Malaysia. Haw Par Corporation, Ethyl Corporation and Uniroyal Chemical Corporation.
 
In the last 2 USA-based MNCs, Helen headed the HR function for the whole Asia Pacific region. Her main focus was on recruiting talent for each location and handling Mergers and Acquisition people-related issues.  As Asia Pacific HR Director, Helen’s role as business partner to all regional business heads, gave her the opportunity to develop her coaching skills, leadership development initiatives and resilience programs for all employees during major restructuring periods.
 
In March 2006, Helen was invited by Singhealth to pioneer the Silver Connection Movement. In the 3 years with Singhealth as Program Consultant, she was instrumental in creating a successful movement, engaging mature employees of Singhealth through a customized ESS Personal Effectiveness to stay employed embracing the ethos of renew, refresh, rewire, not retire.
 
She further developed meaningful initiatives to invite retirees back to the healthcare workforce, on flexible part time basis. For these accomplishments, Singhealth won the 2007 HRM award for Innovative Ideas to enhance employability of older workers, and more recently the first International American Retired Persons (AARP) award from USA in 2008.
 
Helen Lim has obtained the status of a Certified Master Coach and gained membership to the International Coaching Council (ICC).
 

Robert brings with him over 25 years experience in Human Resources Management practice and consulting with various national and multinational corporations.

Early in his career, Robert was a faculty member in the Singapore Command & Staff College, the premier training institute for senior leaders of the Singapore Armed Forces, where he taught military history and strategic studies as part of their leadership curricula.

His business knowledge and experience has been honed in a range of industries - petroleum refining (ExxonMobil); computing (Data General); banking (Citigroup and National Westminster Bank); semiconductors (ST Microelectronics), retailing (Tesco), container shipping (Maersk Line) and consumer goods (Cadbury). As a HR leader his corporate roles have included specialist functions at Regional HQs and HR generalist roles at the country level with geographies extending from South Korea to Australia and India. During his career, he has also undertaken expatriate assignments to the US, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

For 20 years starting in 1983, Robert was an adjunct faculty member with the Singapore Institute of Management teaching the Diploma in Management Studies, the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (RMIT University), and the Henley MBA. He was a frequent guest lecturer at the Singapore Human Resources Institute for their Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, and a part-time lecturer at the Asia-Pacific Management Centre for the University of Hull MBA. He has also co-facilitated leadership and change management workshops for the Executive MBA at the National University of Singapore.

His previous consulting assignments included leadership development, performance management, team-building, change management, and organization design work with companies such as Singapore Airlines, Reuters, Dumex, Philips, Dow Corning, the East Asiatic Company and the Singapore National Skin Centre.

As a consultant to Nokia, he helped to launch the Investment in People (IiP) and Nokia Values initiatives. This involved working with senior business leaders in Nokia’s Asia Pacific locations to equip them with the skills and confidence to drive and embed these major change initiatives across their business units. He also led change management workshops for the customer services and business development business units in Nokia Thailand and facilitated organization design sessions with Nokia’s APAC HQ in Singapore.

In his consulting work with Cable & Wireless, Robert partnered with Country Managing Directors in C&W’s businesses in the Indian Ocean and Pacific region to put in place people management tools such as performance appraisal, coaching, and discipline management, as well as a reward system comprising job evaluation, job grades, and salary ranges and pay rate progression.

As a speaker and facilitator, Robert brings with him a wealth of corporate anecdotal evidence to support management concepts, converting business theory into practical tools thereby making it easy for leaders to comprehend and apply. He has a dynamic, interactive style of engaging with participants, and enjoys interspersing core messages with a dollop of humour. He is a certified “supercoach” and he often applies non-directive coaching techniques to his work with clients.

Robert was educated in Singapore and Australia. He has a B.A. (English and History), and B.Soc.Sc. with Hons in Political Science from the University of Singapore.

He graduated with an M.A. in International Relations from the Australian National University as a Ford Scholar. While employed in Mobil, he was sponsored for an M.A. in Human Resources Development from the George Washington University.

In completing the Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management at the Singapore Institute of Management, he won the coveted Gold Medal for topping his class as the overall best student.
